Service Coordination
Service Coordination is the foundation for all services delivered or coordinated by Williamsburg County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs. Everyone, over the age of 3, is assigned a Service Coordinator. Children 0-3 are served through our Early Intervention program.
For specific eligibility requirements please visit the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs state website: South Carolina DDSN (www.state.sc.us/ddsn/)
To begin the eligibility process you must call the referral number that best meets your needs:
-
Children 0-3: (843) 915-8846
-
Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism: (800) 289-7012
-
Individuals with Head or Spinal Cord Injuries: (866) 867-3864
Please note: These numbers will be a recording and someone will call you back.
You will be given a choice of Service Coordination providers with Williamsburg County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs being one of them. Once you have selected your provider, a Service Coordinator will be assigned, and the eligibility process will begin.

Over the last several years, funding issues have caused major budget cuts throughout the state of South Carolina and Williamsburg County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs has not gone unaffected. Unfortunately, once eligible for services, individuals are placed on extensive waiting lists.
The Service Coordinator continues to play a key role in assisting the individual, however, funding is often an issue that blocks Service Coordinators from connecting individuals with all the services they need.
